SONIA SANMARTIN – FOUNDER

With over fifteen years of professional experience, Sonia specialises in developing businesses focused on community transformation and sustainable investment. Her career has spanned multiple countries, including Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, the Middle East, Nepal, Thailand,  the Nordics, Brazil, and Latin America.

After a successful career in finance, Sonia transitioned to work in NGOs and foundations as a resources procurement specialist and philanthropic steward, driven by her passion for helping others.

Sonia holds a background in international law and sustainable investment, with certifications in children’s development, human rights-based development, gender studies, circular economy, waste management, digital marketing, impact measurement, and social impact.

She is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Galician.

As a lecturer at Insper in Brazil and the Center of Philanthropy in Geneva, and a frequent speaker at conferences on sustainable investment and transformational philanthropy, Sonia is always seeking the best fit for her mandates.

A passionate practitioner of roots capoeira, she believes deeply in its power to drive social transformation, as it embodies a pure philosophy of life.
