Sonia Sanmartin brings over fifteen years of experience at the intersection of community transformation, sustainable investment, and philanthropy. Her journey has taken her across the globe — from Europe to the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America — shaping initiatives that combine strategy, impact, and human connection.
After a successful career in finance, Sonia shifted her focus to NGOs and foundations, guided by a passion for creating tangible social impact. She combines a background in international law and sustainable investment with certifications spanning children’s development, human rights, gender studies, circular economy, and social impact measurement.
Fluent in six languages — English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Galician — Sonia navigates diverse cultures and contexts with ease.
As a lecturer at Insper in Brazil and the Center of Philanthropy in Geneva, and a frequent speaker on transformational philanthropy, she continuously seeks meaningful collaborations that align strategy with purpose.
